What is Design & Drawing for Production?
DESIGN AND DRAWING FOR PRODUCTION - Full Year Course - Design and Drawing for Production is an introductory course which gives students the foundation of concepts taught in both Art and Engineering strands; students practice drawing and technical sketching skills, are immersed in design thinking and innovation practices as well encouraged to foster their creativity and creative problem solving skills. The course emphasizes critical thinking and creative problem solving by examining problems and assignments using the STEAM principles (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Technology). Students in this class use sophisticated computer modeling and design software while developing innovative solutions to design problems and class challenges, building 3D models and/or prototypes. While not a prerequisite for either strand, this course will prepare students for further study in our STEAM strand engineering electives and upper level art electives. Students enrolled in DDP will earn 1 unit of Art credit required for graduation.
